The short version. Travel Wonder has no accounts and no servers of its own. Your places, trips, reminders, notes and photos stay on your iPhone. We do not track you, we show no advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information.
1 Who this policy covers
This policy explains how the Travel Wonder iPhone app (“the app”, “we”) handles information. It applies to the app itself and to this page. It does not apply to third-party websites or services you may open from within the app.
By using the app you agree to the handling of information described here.
2 Information stored on your device
Everything you create in the app is written to your iPhone's own storage. It is not uploaded to us, because we do not operate a backend that receives it.
- Saved places and collections — the attractions and destinations you bookmark.
- Trips — titles, destinations, dates, budgets and notes you enter.
- Reminders — the text and times of the travel reminders you set.
- Photos — pictures you take in the app or pick from your photo library, plus any caption you add.
- Personal notes and profile details — anything you type into a place, trip or your profile.
- Preferences — your settings, such as whether notifications are enabled.
We have no ability to read this content remotely.
3 Information we do not collect
- No account, sign-up, name or password is required to use the app.
- No advertising identifiers, no advertising networks, no ad tracking.
- No behavioural analytics or usage profiling.
- No contacts, calendars, health data, microphone or payment information.
- No selling, renting or trading of personal information to anyone, for any purpose.
4 Device permissions
iOS asks for your permission before any of the following. You can grant or revoke each one at any time in iOS Settings › Travel Wonder. Declining a permission only disables the feature that needs it; the rest of the app keeps working.
| Permission | Why the app asks | Where the data goes |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | To photograph places you visit and attach them to your collection. | Stored on your device only. |
| Photo Library | To attach existing photos to a place or trip, and to save photos you capture. | Stored on your device only. |
| Notifications | To deliver the travel reminders you schedule. | Scheduled locally on your device. |
| Location | Optional — to look up attractions and weather near you. | Coordinates are used for that single lookup and are not stored by us. |
5 Third-party services the app queries
To show places, maps data and weather, the app makes requests to the public services below. Like any request on the internet, these carry your IP address and the search terms or coordinates involved. Each service handles that data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
| Service | Used for | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| OpenTripMap | Attraction search and place details. | Your search text or coordinates and the place identifier you opened. |
| OpenStreetMap Nominatim | Turning a place name into a coordinate. | The place name you searched for. |
| Open-Meteo | Current weather for a destination. | The coordinates of the destination. |
These requests contain no account identifier, because the app has no accounts. We do not send your saved places, trips, notes or photos to any of them.
6 Web pages shown inside the app
Some pages, including this one, are displayed in an in-app web view. The web view is used only to render pages we point it at. It does not read your saved content, and the app does not inject scripts to observe your browsing.
7 Retention and deletion
Your content stays on your device until you remove it. You are in control of all of it:
- Delete an individual place, trip, reminder or photo from within the app.
- Use Settings › Clear All Data to erase saved places and trips at once.
- Delete the app to remove everything it stored on your iPhone.
Because we hold nothing on our side, deletion on your device is complete deletion.
8 Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and erase your personal data. In this app those rights are satisfied directly on your device: the content is already in your hands, and you can edit or erase it at any time without asking us. We hold no copy to disclose, correct or delete on your behalf, and we run no sale or sharing of personal information to opt out of.
9 Children
The app is rated for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since no personal data is transmitted to us at all, there is nothing for us to collect from any user, regardless of age.
10 Security
Your content is protected by your iPhone's own security: device passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS file protection. Network requests to the services listed above use encrypted HTTPS connections. Keeping your device updated and passcode-protected is the most effective safeguard for the data in the app.
11 Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version is published on this page with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect. Reviewing this page occasionally is the best way to stay informed.
